Parade week

If you love a parade, this week is for you.
There are six parades between Thursday and Saturday in the Wayne County area, four of which are on Saturday.
There are also three holiday concerts and the annual production of "The Nutcracker" for those looking for ways to get into the spirit of the season.
The first parade this week is Thursday in LaGrange. The procession begins at 4 p.m. downtown.
Then on Friday at 3:30 p.m., Cherry Hospital will have its annual parade, which begins on Stevens Mill Road and circles around the patient units.
Saturday is the big parade day, with three scheduled in Wayne County and one in Princeton.
Mount Olive's parade is Saturday at 10 a.m., which starts down Breazeale Avenue; Fremont's is at 1 p.m. downtown; and Goldsboro's is at 4 p.m. downtown on Center Street.
Princeton's parade is at 1 p.m., which starts and ends at the high school on Pearl Street.
Along with parades there are other holiday festivities.
Tickets remain available for the Goldsboro Ballet production of "The Nutcracker," which will be performed at the Paramount Theater on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $8, $10 and $12 and can be purchased at the Arts Council of Wayne County.
III Century Singers will present its annual concert Saturday and Sunday at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro at 7 p.m. Admission is free; donations will be accepted. If you can't make it to the concert this weekend, it will also be performed Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mount Olive.
The Mount Olive College Concert Choir will present Handel's "Messiah" part II on Friday at 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mount Olive.
If you can't wait until the weekend for music, the Wayne Community College band and chorus will give a concert Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium on campus. Admission is free.
