Trailer theft
Three men were arrested before dawn today by Wayne County authorities and charged with stealing a utility trailer in Goldsboro. The trailer was returned to the owner before he knew that it had been taken.
William Ray Montague II, 36, of North Jefferson Avenue and Paul Eugene Bennett, 35, and Larry Nolan Smith, 29, both of Legion Lake Drive, Dudley, were charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Each was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
The three men were arrested at about 2 a.m. by sheriff's Cpl. Joe Smith on U.S. 117 South near O'Berry Road and charged with possession of the stolen trailer.
The three also were charged later by Goldsboro police with larceny of the trailer from William Vance Allen of North Jefferson Avenue. The trailer was valued at $450.
Drug charge
A 19-year-old man from Goldsboro was arrested Tuesday by the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with a felony drug offense.
Johnathan Maurice Lamb of Carver Drive was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and resisting arrest. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $9,000 secured bond.
School bus wreck
A Wayne County school bus was rear-ended Thursday at N.C. 581 and Rosewood Road, according to a Highway Patrol report filed Wednesday.
No students were on the bus that was driven by Wendy U. Kelly, 39, of Old Smithfield Road, Princeton. The bus sustained an estimated $1,000 in damages.
The driver of a sport utility vehicle, Ronnie Sam Chisolm Jr., 28, of Old Smithfield Road, was charged with failure to reduce speed. Damage to his SUV was set at $4,400. The collision occurred at 4:32 p.m.
Pickup overturns
A pickup truck was demolished Friday when it ran off Old Black Creek Road near Arthur Davis Road and overturned, the Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Michael James Yelverton, 16, of Penn-Wright Road, Fremont, was not injured seriously, but he was charged with reckless driving.
Yelverton told a trooper that he was talking on a cell phone at about 6:17 p.m. when the truck ran off the right side, struck a ditch and overturned several times. The pickup was valued at $8,000.
Wallet stolen
A thief threw a brick through a car window Tuesday in the 200 block of North George Street and stole a wallet with $350, according to a Goldsboro police report.
The owner, Edward Harris of Blackjack Church Road, estimated the damage to his car at $150.
Missing
A 15-year-old girl was reported missing Wednesday to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Faris Ray Hare of 132 Aycock Drive was described as white, 5-feet-3 and 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
She was seen last on Nov. 14 and may be in northwest Goldsboro. No clothing description was available. Anyone with information on her location was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
