Robbery
Goldsboro police Investigator Dale Foster has charged Dwayne Lee Hardy of Goldsboro with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
These charges are in reference to a robbery in the 300 block of Brownrigg Street on Nov. 2. Three people were visiting at 305 Brownrigg St. when they were approached by five people with weapons and were robbed.
Joslyn Moore of Goldsboro and Jamal Clerfont of Goldsboro were arrested on Nov. 2. and are waiting trial. One outstanding warrant is on file for Ivan Harvey of Goldsboro for three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police say they are still investigating.
Dwayne Lee Hardy was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
Investigator Foster was assisted by Investigator K.S. Harris.
Break-in
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has charged Brock Anthony Hamm, 29, of the 100 block of Mill Dam Lane with breaking and entering and larceny of a firearm from a residence on Lancaster Road.
The break-in was reported to the office on Nov. 10. A rifle was recovered.
Brock was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for today.
The arresting officer was Det. Sgt. Carl Lancaster, and the assisting officer was Det. Sgt. Mike Kabler.
Kidnapping
Donald Jermaine Sheppard and Jamar Ray Campbell were arrested on Tuesday by Goldsboro police and charged with kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
They were each held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $100,000 secured bonds. They are accused of a home invasion on Rockefeller Court public housing. They were both apprehended minutes later by "A" shift patrol officers after a brief foot chase, officers said.
The victim's property and the weapon used have been recovered.
Holdup
Ron Tauris Coley of the 100 block of Shirley Dr. in Dudley was robbed of $80 at gunpoint Tuesday at the Handy Mart on U.S. 117 South.
The robber asked Coley if he had change for $100 and Coley said he did not. The robber pulled out a gun, got the $80 and drove off in a red four-door vehicle.
Coley chased him, but lost the robber at the U.S. 117 South Bypass and George Street. The Wayne County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
Missing
Hernandez
Amanda Nicole Hernandez, 16, of 2168 Dobbersville Road in Mount Olive was reported missing on Nov. 7.
She is expected to be driving a 1998 Saturn, navy blue in color. She is described as white female, 5-feet-4, approximately 140 pounds with black, long hair and brown eyes. No clothing description could be provided.She left from her aunt's home at 1109 Dobbersville Road in Mount Olive to transport a friend home and she has not been seen or been in contact with any family members since. Anyone with information on this missing person was asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Department at 731-1493.
Traffic accidents
*Damages were estimated at $5,200 in a two-car collision at 4:41 p.m. Monday at Peachtree and North Claiborne streets, Goldsboro police said. One driver, Justin Berry Smith, 21, of Wayne Memorial Drive, was charged with a stop-sign violation. The report said the eastbound car that Smith was driving collided with a southbound auto driven by Raymond Christopher Pollock, 49, of South Andrews Avenue.
*A driver was injured in a two-car crash at 1:47 p.m. Monday at East Ash Street and Berkeley Boulevard, police said. Billy Clarence Garner, 49, of Garden Circle was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other motorist, Laura Jeannette Howell, 50, of Zeke's Lane, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end crash. Damages were set at $100.
*A car was demolished in a wreck at 4:10 p.m. Sunday on Pikeville-Princeton Road near Hinnant Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, Christian Caroline Potter, 16, of Wayne Memorial Drive, Pikeville, was neither charged nor injured. She told troopers that she had swerved to miss a dog in the road and then lost control of the car. It ran off the right side and overturned several times. The car was valued at $6,000.
*A driver from Dudley was injured in a one-car wreck at 10:33 p.m. Friday on Massey Road near Country Club Road, the Highway Patrol said. Kenneth Ray Artis, 41, of Shirley Drive was treated, admitted and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. He also was charged with suspicion of driving while impaired. The car hydroplaned on water in the road, then ran off the left side, struck a driveway culvert and a mailbox and overturned, troopers said. Damages were put at $4,560.
*A driver was injured in a one-vehicle wreck at 11 p.m. Friday on True Vine Road near Wayne Memorial Drive, the Highway Patrol said. James Angelo Dambosio, 45, of Wayne Memorial Drive was released after emergency-room treatment. He also was charged with suspicion of driving while impaired after his pickup ran off the right side, crossed a field, a driveway and a yard and struck a power pole, the report said. Damage was estimated at $4,000 to the truck and $3,000 to the power pole.
*Damage was put at $5,000 in a one-car crash at 2:30 p.m. Friday on Arrington Bridge Road (N.C. 581) near Pecan Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, Hugh Laister Bryant, 57, of North Alabama Avenue, was charged with exceeding a safe speed after the car ran off the right side and struck a driveway and a ditch.
*Both drivers were injured and damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car collision at 5:49 p.m. Thursday at U.S. 13 and Woodland Church Road, the Highway Patrol said. Joshua Terrel Williams, 16, of Potts Road, Dudley, and Donnie Arvin Parker, 47, of Dunn were released after emergency-room treatment. Williams was charged with a yield violation. Troopers said he had pulled from Woodland Church Road and the car that he was driving collided with Parker's southbound auto.
*A motorcyclist from Indiana was injured in a wreck at 3:34 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 117 near Airport Road, the Highway Patrol said. John D. Fleming, 36, of Camby, Ind., was released after emergency-room treatment. No charges were filed after he lost control of the bike and it turned over on its side in the other lane. Damage was fixed at $7,000.
*A driver was injured on Tuesday at the Goldsboro Mini Mart at 601 W. Ash St. Martin Edward Britt of Jesse Jackson Street in LaGrange was getting out of his vehicle when the vehicle started rolling back. The driver side door hit him and knocked him on the ground. The vehicle went in a circle in the parking lot and collided with two other vehicles that were parked. The total estimated damages were $5,000. Britt was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Rescue 41. He was treated and released.
*Damages were estimated at $7,000 in a one-car crash Monday. Jeffrey Craig Radford Jr. of Promise Land Road in LaGrange was traveling north on Church Street when he ran off the road to the right, struck a ditch and utility pole and concrete culvert before overturning two times. The vehicle came to rest partially in the road facing east, according to the Highway Patrol. Radford was charged with a lane control violation.
*A driver was injured and damages were estimated at $18,000 in a one-car crash Monday on Sleepy Creek Road in Dudley. Justin Brian Flowers of Thigpen Dairy Road in Mount Olive was traveling east on Sleepy Creek Road when he ran off the side of the road trying to avoid a deer in the roadway. He struck a culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest off the road. Flowers and Elizabeth Price of Church Street in Mount Olive were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Goldsboro Rescue. They were treated and released.
*Several people were injured and damages were estimated at $5,900 in a two-car crash on U.S. 117 near Pikeville on Sunday. A vehicle driven by Lavonda Kenan of John Street was stopped on U.S. 117 waiting for oncoming traffic to pass before making a left turn onto Booker Street. Another vehicle driven by Thadis Milton Coley of Dwight Lane failed to reduce speed and struck Kenan's vehicle in the rear. Both vehicles came to rest on the shoulder of U.S. 117. Coley was charged with failure to reduce speed. Ms. Kenan, Nikia Bryant of John St., Laquisha Toomer of John Street, Minnie Hamilton of Herman Street were all taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Wayne County EMS. They were treated and released.
*One person was injured and damages were estimated at $5,500 on Princeton Road near Goldsboro. Brian Delwood Williams of Whitus Road in Hampstead was traveling west on Oakland Church Road. Carol Register Bass was traveling south on Princeton Road when Williams' vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection. Bass' vehicle struck William's vehicle, which ran off the road to the left and came to rest in a ditch bank. Bass' vehicle came to rest across Oakland Church Road. Williams was charged with failure to yield right of way. Ms. Bass was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Wayne County EMS where she was treated and released.
