Four hurt in wrecks
Four people were injured and damages were estimated at $12,300 in three traffic collisions in Goldsboro, police reported.
*A driver was injured and damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car crash at 2 a.m. today on North William Street near Fedelon Trail, Goldsboro police said. Stephen Anthony Glemming, 28, of Salem Church Road, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other driver, Ricardo Reyes Martinez, 25, of North John Street, was charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving.
*Both drivers were injured in a collision at 8 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Memorial Drive and an entrance to the Marketplace Shopping Center, police said. Shonise M. Jacobs, 31, of Catalpa Street and Grady B. Newcomb, 54, of Adams Road, Seven Springs, were released after emergency-room treatment. Ms. Jacobs, who was leaving the shopping center, was charged with a safe-movement violation. Her car collided with Ms. Newcomb's southbound pickup, the report said. Damages were put at $4,000.
*A driver swerved into the median and struck a guardrail at 8:04 p.m. Thursday to avoid merging traffic from a service road to Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway near the North William Street exit, police said. The driver, Edi Merida Garcia, 32, of Felix Ruiz Lane, Mount Olive, was injured in the crash and taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she was listed today in stable condition, a spokeswoman said. Ms. Garcia was charged with not having a driver's license. The drivers of the other vehicles did not stop and could not be identified. Damages were put at $3,300.
14th drug charge
A 14th person wanted on charges filed after a two-month undercover drug operation was arrested Thursday night by Goldsboro police after a chase.
Dwayne Lee Hardy, 20, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sale and delivery of cocaine and conspiracy to sell cocaine. He also was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, speeding, false information and two counts each of driving while his license was revoked and resisting arrest.
Hardy was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $110,300 secured bond.
Eleven more people are being sought by authorities from the undercover campaign.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Two amplifiers and a speaker were stolen between Thursday and dawn today from a vehicle in the 300 block of East Mulberry Street, police said. The owner and resident, Dallas Ray Player, put a $3,125 value on his property. No sign of forced entry was reported.
*A gunshot on Thursday shattered a window in a home in the 600 block of East Holly Street, police said. The resident, Jessie Williams, estimated damage at $50.
Missing
Two teen-aged boys were reported missing Thursday by relatives to Goldsboro police.
*Ramah Lennox, 15, of 1008 Edgerton St. was described as black, 6-feet-1 and 200 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. When he was seen last at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, he was wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, black shoes and a gray hooded coat.
*Sannario Quentay Brown, 16, of 1000 N. James St. was described as black, 5-feet-8 and 160 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was seen last at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. No clothing description was available.
Anyone with information on the location of either teen was asked to call police at 705-6572.
Car radios stolen
A Dudley man was selling his two cars this week, but a thief decided that he liked only the combination radio and compact disc players, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
Romulus Stahl had put his Acura and BMW in his yard in the 4000 block of U.S. 117 Alternate. Between Wednesday and Thursday, a thief damaged a window, a door lock and the dashboard in the BMW and stole the radio and CD player. Then the thief smashed a window in the Acura and stole the other radio and CD player.
The two radio-CD players were valued at $375. Damage was estimated at $850.
