The Goldsboro Travel and Tourism Department has received a $2,700 grant from the state to help develop a computer compact disk to use to market the area's attractions. A local match of $900 will be paid by the Tourism Department.
The disk will be used for marketing to tour operators, group tour planners and for media marketing. It will help the department increase its exposure to group tour planners, tour operators and motor-coach operators, say tourism officials. The CD will also be given out at trade and travel shows.
The interactive CD will include sound and custom graphics based on the marketing materials of the tourism department.
The Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development in the N.C. Department of Commerce coordinates the matching grants annually to help promote tourism destinations throughout the state.
