Two hurt in wreck
Two drivers were injured and damages were estimated at $15,000 in two recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, the Highway Patrol reported.
*Damages were estimated at $7,500 in a three-truck collision at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. 13 and Hood Swamp Road, the Highway Patrol said. Antonio Aguilar Mendoza, 27, of Burlington, was charged with failure to reduce speed and no operator's license after the rear-end collision. The other motorists were identified as Eric Jay Myers, 24, of Eason Road, LaGrange, and Luis Miguel Ruiz, 22, of Fayetteville.
*Both drivers were injured and damages were set at $7,500 in a two-vehicle crash at 6:50 a.m. Monday at U.S. 70 and Beston Road, the Highway Patrol said. John Eduardo Marroquin, 21, of Andrews Circle, Mount Olive, and Vanessa Marie Lopez, 19, of Kinston were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Marroquin was charged with a yield violation at a stop sign. The report said Marroquin's northbound pickup collided with Ms. Lopez's westbound car.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*Jewelry, video-game equipment and a Washington Redskins' football jersey with the name John Riggins were stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from an apartment in the 300 block of East Walnut Street, Goldsboro police said. The thief had damaged a door to get inside, the report said. The resident, S.M. Grantham, estimated the value of the stolen property at $1,450 and damage at $200.
*A .38 caliber handgun, video-game equipment, two phones and a safe were stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from a home in the 200 block of Biltmore Drive, sheriff's deputies said. The resident, Charlene T. Stogdale, put a $1,425 value on the stolen property.
*A blue, four-door 1993 Chevrolet Corsica was stolen Wednesday from the 100 block of North Center Street, police said. The owner, Yolanda Murray, said she had left the unlocked car running and was gone for only about 10 minutes. The car was valued at $2,000.
Missing
A 15-year-old Goldsboro boy was reported missing Wednesday by relatives to Goldsboro police.
Christopher Michael Williams of 604 A St. was described as black, 5-feet-9 and 160 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.
When he was seen last at 4 p.m. Oct. 20, he was wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, tan boots and a black coat. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call police at 705-6572.
