The Wayne County Partnership for Children is sponsoring a forum to gather input from parents on services available for children.
The forum will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. in St. Mary's School auditorium. Parents of children from birth to 5 years old will be asked to share concerns and opinions about Wayne County's preschool age population and what programs are necessary to promote kindergarten readiness.
Attendees will be divided into four focus groups: family support, education, health, and Latino concerns. Information gathered will be compiled into a needs assessment for Wayne County. It will assist the partnership in its plans for the coming year.
The forum will be led by East Carolina University graduate students. Among the topics discussed will be issues faced by parents of young children, current programs that are most helpful, and suggested services that could be added to better prepare children for school.
