A set of golf clubs, a golf bag, golf accessories and a camera were stolen Tuesday from a garage in the 100 block of Cedar Creek Drive, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
The thief had damaged a garage door in order to steal the property but did not get in the home, the report said. The resident, John Lee Taylor, put a $2,686 value on the golf equipment and said the camera was worth $250. Damage was set at $200.
Sheriff's deputies also are investigating these reports:
*A 9-millimeter handgun and ammunition were stolen Tuesday after a door was damaged at a home in the 6400 block of Wayne Memorial Drive, deputies said. The resident, M.H. Creech, estimated the value of the stolen property at $380 and damage at $200.
*About 75 sheets of four-by-eight-foot, half-inch-thick plywood were stolen between Monday and Tuesday from a construction site in the Goose Creek subdivision, deputies said. The plywood, owned by Stone Construction Co. of Goldsboro, was valued at $1,125.
