Jewelry, coins stolen
An estimated $11,300 in jewelry, an antique coin collection and three $1 silver certificates were stolen Thursday from a home in the 800 block of Ebenezer Church Road, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
The resident, Patricia H. Plourde, said the stolen jewelry included a gold sapphire ring, a pair of diamond earrings and a man's wedding ring. She also put a $5,000 value on the coin collection.
The thief had pried open a window and a door to get inside, the report said, and then ransacked part of the home. Damage was set at $800.
Drug charges
Three people have been arrested by Wayne County authorities and charged with felony drug offenses.
*Mark Owen Williams, 28, of U.S. 13 South was charged by sheriff's deputies with possession of a precursor chemical on U.S. 117. He also was charged with eight misdemeanors -- possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while his license was revoked, no liability insurance, fictitious registration, no registration, expired inspection and resisting arrest. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $21,000 secured bond.
*Joy Robin Davis, 25, of Clark Drive, Dudley, was charged by sheriff's officers with possession of a precursor chemical on U.S. 117. She was jailed in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
*Kristie Willette Whitfield, 27, of North Madison Avenue was charged by Goldsboro police with possession of cocaine on North William Street. She was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
Teen charged with burglary
A teen-ager was arrested Thursday by Goldsboro police and charged with the first-degree burglary of an apartment in the 900 block of Lincoln Drive.
The resident, Ranetta Lane, reported at about 1:35 a.m. that someone had entered her home. After patrol officers took the report, Investigator G.N. Lynch responded. The teen who was not identified because of his age was arrested at about 3:55 a.m. Officers Michael Sweet and Chris Scott assisted in the case.
Man wanted after train ride
A Wayne County man wrecked a tractor-trailer truck and drove a locomotive off the tracks, and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on his whereabouts.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is looking for Ronald L. Reid, 42, of Donaldson Drive, wanted on a charge of larceny of a tractor-trailer truck from Goldsboro Milling Co. on Miller's Chapel Road.
He also was wanted for questioning about damages at the company. He is known to frequent Dudley, detectives said.
The 2001 Kenworth tractor and aluminum trailer, valued at a combined $150,000, were stolen between Friday and Sunday and then were returned after the rig crashed into a building. A locomotive was also driven off the tracks at Goldsboro Milling. Damages were estimated at about $13,000.
Driver injured
One driver was injured and damages were estimated at $11,600 in three recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*Damages were estimated at $5,500 in a two-vehicle collision at 12:23 p.m. Thursday on Cashwell Drive near North Berkeley Boulevard, Goldsboro police said. One driver, Vonda P. Ashford, 46, of Maple Street, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said she had pulled from a parking lot and the pickup that she was driving collided with a westbound car driven by James Douglas Hill, 40, of Lane Ridge Drive.
*Damage was put at $5,000 in a one-car wreck at 7:40 p.m. Thursday at Fedelon Trail and Salem Church Road, police said. The driver, Jeffery Michael Mullins, 16, of Lane Tree Drive, was charged with a safe-movement violation. Police said he was making a left turn onto Fedelon Trail and the car ran off the right side and struck a ditch and a drainage pipe.
*A driver from Goldsboro was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:40 p.m. Monday at U.S. 117 and Big Daddy's Road in Pikeville, the Highway Patrol said. George Michael Hooks, 42, of Scotty Drive was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other motorist, Jo M. Edwards, 50, of Beulaville, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. Damages were put at $1,100.
Missing
Two people have been reported missing to Wayne County authorities.
*Siscelia Williams, 16, of 129 Mill Creek Court was described as black, 5-feet tall and 100 pounds with black hair in braids, brown eyes and a small build. She was seen last at 8 p.m. Wednesday. No clothing description was available.
*James Taylor Jr., 47, of 908-B Lincoln Drive was described as black, 5-feet-7 and 149 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. When he was seen last at 7 p.m. Thursday, he was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and white shoes.
