Bank robbery
Goldsboro police, assisted by the FBI, broadened their search today for the man who robbed The Little Bank on Tuesday morning.
The robber entered the bank at 201 N. Center St., displayed a handgun, grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from a teller and ran off.
The robber was described as black, about 25 to 35 years old, 6-feet-2 to 6-5 and 170 to 190 pounds with a thin build. He wore a black cap, a bandanna covering his face, a white T-shirt under a black long-sleeved sweatshirt and dark, possibly camouflage, pants.
Anyone with information on the robbery was asked to call Investigator Mike Horstmann at 580-4213 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
Man robbed
A 31-year-old man from Goldsboro says he was robbed of $4 and a pack of cigarettes, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Quarivous S. Crawford told officers that three armed black men, about 18 to 20 years old, displayed firearms at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and one struck him with a sawed-off shotgun. Then they stole the property and fled.
Crawford said he was going to ignore the holdup until Tuesday, when one of the robbers pointed a weapon at him again, the report said.
The robbery occurred near the clothes line off DuPont Circle in the Westhaven housing complex.
Driver injured
A driver was injured and damages were estimated at $6,000 in a collision at 3 p.m. Tuesday at North Berkeley Boulevard and Mall Road, a Goldsboro police report said. Bernice George, 63, of South Claiborne Street was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other driver, Amy Lynn Place, 29, of Renee Drive, was charged with a safe-movement violation.
Four-wheeler found
A man came home this morning and found his new four-wheeler missing from the back of his pickup truck, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
Adam John Tellier of Heron Drive told deputies that at about 5:30 a.m. he heard the four-wheeler going up Wayne Memorial Drive. He then jumped in his pickup and chased it to Bartlett Road, where the thief ditched the four-wheeler and fled.
Tellier then recovered the 2004 Yamaha four-wheeler, valued at $11,000. He could not describe the thief.
Missing teens
Romero
Two teen-agers have been reported missing by relatives to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office:
*Eric Fabela Romero, 14, was described as Hispanic, 5-feet-6 and 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He may be near Snow Hill in Greene County.
*Erin Marie Thibodeau, 16, of 460 Braswell Road was described as white, 5-feet and 100 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was seen last at 10 p.m. Thursday. No clothing description was available.
Anyone with information on the location of either teen was asked to call Detective Sgt. Ray Brogden at 580-4066 or the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*About $230 was stolen from a vending machine at the Piggly Wiggly supermarket at 100 N. Lionel St. The thief had pried open the machine to get the money.
*A green, four-door 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen Tuesday from a convenience store parking lot at 902 Herman Place. The owner, Lothedis M. McKinnon of Goldsboro, said she had left the key in the car while she was getting change. The car was valued at $2,000.
