An armed man wearing dark clothing, possibly camouflage, robbed the Little Bank on Center Street this morning in downtown Goldsboro.

No one was hurt.

Sgt. David Kelly of the Goldsboro Police Department said the man was black, wore a mask and displayed a weapon. He would not say what kind of weapon. He said there were four customers and five bank employees in the bank at the time. No one was injured.

The man entered the bank demanding money from the tellers. He told them to put the money into a yellow Dollar General bag. Kelly said an undetermined amount of money was put into the bag.

Kelly said investigators had interviewed everyone inside the bank and several people along the path of flight. Witnesses said the man came out of the bank and ran west on Mulberry Street toward James Street. Kelly said he's not sure whether the man went to George Street or continued running on James Street.

He said they were still trying to develop information about the robber. As information comes in, he said, the investigators will research it and act on it.

Kelly was awaiting the arrival of Doug Rambaugh, who had been called in from the Greenville office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 735-2255 or Goldsboro police Investigator Mike Horstmann at 580-4213.

The N.C. Bankers Association will offer a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible for the robbery. Confidential information may be called to 1-800-209-2293.
