100 Great nurses

Three nurses from Wayne Memorial Hospital were named 2003 recipients of the Great 100 award given to top registered nurses in the state.
Connie Bandy, in health promotions; Rebecca West of the Eastern Regional Surgery Center; and Jackie Williams from labor and delivery were honored during ceremonies in Greensboro last weekend.
Ms. Bandy has been a nurse for 38 years. Ms. West has 32 years of experience in the field and Ms. Williams has 15.
"The Great 100 Inc." was established in 1989 by a group of volunteer nurses to recognize excellence in the nursing practice and raise money for nursing scholarships in North Carolina.
Since its inception, more than $140,000 has been awarded.
