Open Junior Horse Show winners announced

Youth from several eastern North Carolina counties gathered Saturday at the Wayne County Fairgrounds for this year's Open Junior Horse Show.
Around 70 riders and horses competed in the event, which was more than last year, said Eileen Coite, livestock extension agent. There were 375 total entries combined from all the classes. The participants ranged in age from 5 to 19 years old.
The show began at 10 a.m. and finished around 9:30 p.m.
"It was a big day, " she said.
