Fifteen vye to be Queen of the Fair

The Queen of the Fair Pageant will be Friday, Oct. 1, at 8 a.m. at the Wayne County Regional Fair.

This year's participants are as follows:

*Kiana Worrell, 10th grade, Southern Wayne High School, daughter of Sabrina Worrell and Bernard Gross, talent -- playing flute

*April Keen, 12th grade, Eastern Wayne High School, daughter of Billy Dixon and Linnie Keen, talent -- singing

*Candace Phillips, 11th grade, Spring Creek High School, daughter of Travis and Farritta Phillips, talent -- singing

*Ashlyn Barnes, 12th grade, Charles B. Aycock High School, daughter of William and Linda Barnes, talent -- dancing

*Casey Sutton, 11th grade, Charles B. Aycock High School, daughter of Rick and Karen Sutton, talent -- singing

*April Mitchell, 12th grade, Rosewood High School, daughter of Berry Mitchell and Susan Mintz, talent -- singing

*Hannah Best, 12th grade, Southern Wayne High School, daughter of Richard and Deane Best, talent -- dancing

*Betsy Overman, 12th grade, Southern Wayne High School, daughter of Harrell and Lorenda Overman, talent -- singing
