Leadership class climbs to new heights for teamwork

The 2004-05 class of Leadership Wayne County began its year with a retreat last weekend at Camp Seagull in Arapahoe.
The 16 class members met at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce last Friday, then traveled to the camp to participate in team-building exercises for a day and a half.
Classmates were challenged to climb the Alpine Tower, a demanding exercise that builds trust and camaraderie within the group.
The class will now meet one Friday a month for the next seven months for educational sessions that offer an inside look into Wayne County and show ways to get involved in the community. The class will also choose a project to benefit the county and its citizens.
Upon completion of the program, members receive a graduation certificate.
Leadership Wayne County is intended to train people for leadership positions in business, community and governmental affairs. The program is sponsored by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and the Wayne Charitable Partnership. Corporate sponsors this year are Accucopy and Wayne Memorial Hospital.
