Routes to watch during Labor Day travel

RALEIGH -- The N.C. Department of Transportation has issued this notice for Labor Day holiday travel:
Most work zones along interstate and U.S. routes across the state will be inactive during the Labor Day holiday from Friday to Monday. However, while planning your holiday trip, watch for lane closings or detours in the following areas:
Interstate Routes
*I-85 in Alamance County -- The inside left lanes of north and southbound I-85 from Exit 139 to Exit 141 are closed. Three of four lanes will be open.
*I-85 in Mecklenburg County -- The inside northbound lane and the outside southbound lane between Sam Wilson Road (Exit 29) and Little Rock Road (Exit 32) are closed for sign installation.
*I-85 in Durham County -- The southbound I-85 off-ramp and the northbound I-85 on-ramp at Hillandale Road (Exit 174-A) are closed with signed detours in place.
*I-77 in Mecklenburg County -- The left lane is closed in the northbound direction at LaSalle Street (Exit 12). Three of four lanes will remain open. Also, the left lane in the southbound direction is closed from south of Sunset Road (Exit 16) to I-85 (Exit 13). Two of three lanes will remain open. Additionally, one of two lanes is closed on the ramp from I-85 (Exit 38) southbound to I-77 southbound.
*I-40 in Durham County -- Westbound I-40 on and off-ramps at N.C. 751 (Exit 274) are closed with signed detours in place. Also, the westbound I-40 on and off-ramps at N.C. 55 (Exit 278) are closed with signed detours in place.
U.S. routes
*U.S. 421 in Forsyth County -- Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction from east of U.S. 52 to Linville Road.
*U.S. 421 in Harnett County -- Intermittent lane closures in both directions on U.S. 421 from N.C. 55 to Erwin Road due to milling and paving. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times.
*U.S. 17 in Onslow County -- Possible lane closures on U.S. 17 south of Jacksonville. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times.
N.C. routes
*N.C. 24 in Onslow County -- Possible lane closures on N.C. 24 east of Jacksonville. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times.
