Four new Wayne County sheriff's deputies have graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Training course at Wayne Community College.

Deputies Edward Miller, Matthew Miller, Rodney Lovic and Zino Mitchell completed more than 800 hours of training in 12 months.

Edward Miller was hired in 2001 as a jail officer and was promoted in 2003 to deputy. He had worked as a school resource officer and now is assigned to the Dudley annex as a county ordinance officer.

Mathew Miller joined the Sheriff's Office in January and is working as the resource officer at Spring Creek High School.

Lovic was hired in 2000 as a jail officer and was promoted to deputy in 2004. He is the resource officer at Southern Wayne High School.

Mitchell worked as a jail officer from December 2002, until his promotion to deputy in 2004. He now is the resource officer at Eastern Wayne High School.
