Wal-Mart confirms it's looking at Mount Olive as new store site

ATLANTA -- Glen Wilkins says Wal-Mart is interested in opening a store in Mount Olive.
"We're always looking to expand and to find locations where we can better serve our customers," said Wilkins, who handles community relations in North Carolina for the company. He was responding to an inquiry about rumors that a Wal-Mart Superstore will come to Mount Olive.
"As far as Wal-Mart looking at this particular property and talking to property owners, we talk to property owners all over the place, and we talk to them all the time," he said.
Sometimes, he said, the company initiates conversations with property owners. Sometimes, a broker contacts the company. And although the company is interested in Mount Olive, he said, nothing is confirmed or set in stone at this point.
