The Military Affairs Commission is distributing these informational cards about the base realignment and closure process, and about Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, to citizens, civic groups and elected officials.

Jimmie Edmundson, chairman of the commission, said the group is trying to get the facts out about the process because there have been so many rumors.

Edmundson spoke to the Goldsboro City Council during its briefing Monday afternoon, saying that one television station had continued saying that Seymour Johnson was vulnerable.

"That was complete speculation," Edmundson said. "These are the facts, and hopefully this will answer the questions and stop other rumors."
