Dale Carnegie Course

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will start a new Dale Carnegie Course.

The course helps people strive for ambitious new goals and to communicate clearly and concisely.

The course runs for 12 weeks, one night per week. Graduates of the course receive 4.2 validated continuing education units.

A no-obligation orientation and explanation session will be held at the chamber on Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The session will be about one hour. For reservations, call 734-2241.

Historical program

Earl James of the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources, Office of Archives and History, will be at the library tonight to present a program on black soldiers in the Confederate Army. The program will be held at 7 in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium in the Wayne County Public Library on Ash Street.

Bloodmobile

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a Bloodmobile on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Home Health and Hospice. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
