Several public hearings are scheduled for Monday's Goldsboro City Council meeting, including two on proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance.
The council is also expected to select a candidate to fill the District 3 vacancy on the board.
One amendment, "demolition by neglect," would establish regulations regarding the preservation of buildings and structures downtown.
The proposed regulations, which would mainly affect the historic district, would require that the owners of the building take action to protect their buildings from decay, deterioration and structural defects.
The other amendment is the "noise overlay district," which would put regulations on development in areas near the flight path of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
The council will also conduct a public hearing on a request from Larry and Linda Lean to rezone the north side of South Harding Drive between New Hope Road and North Park Drive from "residential" to "office and institutional."
The meeting will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall on Center Street.
