A Goldsboro man has been indicted on two counts of armed robbery, and another man has been indicted on charges of burglary and strong-armed robbery.

The bills of indictments were handed up this week during the monthly meeting of the Wayne County Grand Jury.

Ivan Devon Harvey, 20, of Birddog Lane, Dudley was accused of using a handgun and robbing $100 from Vanity Davis and $10 from Melena Hudgins on March 28.

Harvey also was indicted on a charge of larceny that stemmed from a theft of a firearm from James Shealey III on May 11, Goldsboro police investigators said.

Edgar Lee Warrick, 38, of Wilson Street was accused of barging into James Earl Bass' home in the 1000 block of Royall Avenue, knocking Bass down and stealing $80 and a cell phone on March 2.

Warrick was arrested after an anonymous call to Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers and a day after his photograph appeared in the News-Argus.

He was charged with burglary and common-law robbery.

Mike Horstmann, the lead investigator, was assisted by D-shift Officers T.L. Collins and Hosea Newsome with his search dog, Azo, in the arrest.

Warrick also was indicted as a habitual felon. If he is convicted of a fourth felony, he will be sentenced to a much longer prison term

The grand jury handed up 42 true bills and could not act on five bills because witnesses were not present.

Thirteen defendants were indicted on drug charges. Eleven were indicted on such property charges as breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Ten more were indicted on such fraud charges as false pretense, credit card theft, identity theft and worthless checks.

The grand jury also handed up true bills on three weapons charges, three traffic offenses and one assault charge.

Three people also were indicted as habitual criminals. If convicted as such, they would be sentenced to much longer sentences.

Several defendants were indicted on charges in more than one crime category.
