Gunshots hit cars
A home and two cars were damaged early today by gunshots and another car was set on fire near Dudley, according to reports filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Wiley Sebastian Mozingo of Brentwood Drive told deputies that at about 12:50 a.m. he noticed that a light was on in his car. When he investigated, he found the windshield of his car, the top of his wife's car and a wall in his home had been struck by gunshots, deputies said.
Damages were estimated at more than $2,000.
Randolph Isler of Royal Court reported that at about 12:50 a.m. the top of his car had been set on fire. He put out the fire. The suspects may have thrown gasoline on the car and then fired several shots, deputies said. Evidence was seized at the scene. Damage was put at $1,000.
Teen wounded
A Goldsboro teen-ager was shot before dawn today in Quail Park but refused to talk to Goldsboro police, officers said.
Kevin Posey, 17, was shot in the legs and arm at about 12:45 a.m., but he managed to return to his home where he called authorities. Posey then was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
Break-ins
Two men were arrested Tuesday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with felonies in connection with break-ins.
Curtis Lee Hardy Jr., 19, of Durham Lake Road, Dudley, was charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond. Some stolen property has been recovered and returned to its owner.
Jeffrey Dean Jones, 29, of East Station Street, Mount Olive, was charged with breaking and entering and larceny. He also was jailed in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond. Detective Sgt. Rick Farfour arrested both men.
Jewelry stolen
An estimated $3,100 worth of jewelry was stolen between June 7 and Tuesday from a home in the 100 block of Robin Lake Drive, Wayne County sheriff's deputies said.
The resident, Crystal D. Love, reported the theft of a diamond tennis bracelet, two wedding bands, a man's diamond ring, a gold earring set and two watch bands. No sign of forced entry was listed.
Deputies also are investigating these reports:
*A refrigerator, 22 brass electrical covers, 12 cabinet doors and brass door handles, a mirror and a ceiling fan were stolen between June 3 and Tuesday from a rental mobile home in the 1600 block of Antioch Road, deputies said. The thief also smashed a sliding glass door. The missing property was valued at $1,575. Damage at the S.L. Harris home was set at $100.
*An estimated $3,000 worth of copper wire, a drill and $6 were stolen between Tuesday and dawn today from a shop at General Industries at 3048 Thoroughfare Road, deputies said. The drill was worth $240.
*Chips, cookies and sodas were stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a door glass was smashed at Providence United Methodist Church, deputies said. The snacks were valued at $10, and damage was set at $50.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A video cassette recorder, a cell phone and charger and $60 in change were stolen Tuesday after a window was damaged at an apartment in the 400 block of North Hillcrest Drive, police said. The resident, Anthony L. Rooker, estimated his property's value at $260 and damage at $105.
*Four spoke rims and four tires were stolen between Tuesday and dawn today from a car in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Wayne Memorial Drive, police said. The owner, James Marshall Davis of Kinston, returned to find his car on blocks. The property was valued at $1,200.
Drug charges
A 40-year-old man from Goldsboro was arrested Tuesday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and charged with two felony drug violations.
Gregory Leon White of East Walnut Street was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of cocaine. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of an $8,000 secured bond.
Missing
Two Goldsboro teen-agers were reported missing Tuesday to Goldsboro police.
*Christopher L. Kilmer, 15, of 312 E. Chestnut St. was described as white, 5-feet-9 and 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. When he was seen last at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, he was wearing a green and brown camouflage shirt, tan shorts, white tennis shoes and a green and white ball cap.
*Shenkqui D. Allen, 14, of 521 Quail Drive was described as black, 5-feet-4 and 165 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. When she was seen last at noon Sunday, she was wearing a Goldsboro city T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Anyone with information on the location of either teen was asked to call police at 705-6527.
