Wayne County firemen from several volunteer departments took part in a half-day training exercise Saturday in which they burned an old house near the intersection of U.S. 117 South and Old Mount Olive Highway. The Mar Mac Fire Department sponsored the exercise to teach new and old members the proper way to attack a fire from outside and how to use small and large hoses when advancing on the flames.
