Break-ins solved

Reports from several citizens have helped Wayne County sheriff's deputies make arrests for numerous thefts, including the break-in of 17 vehicles in Rosewood.
The vehicles were broken into between Friday and Saturday, and some property was stolen, deputies said.
After one larceny, a victim said she had placed merchandise from Wal-Mart in her car. Then she told store officials to contact the Sheriff's Office if anyone tried to get refunds for the property. The Sheriff's Office was called Saturday about a person trying to exchange the property for a refund.

As a result, Dalton Glenn Russ Jr., who did not disclose a home address, was charged with seven felony counts each of breaking and entering of a vehicle, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Russ, 34, was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $50,000 secured bond.
Additional charges are pending, sheriff's Capt. George Raecher said. Some property has been recovered.
D-shift Sgt. Jeff Williams, Cpl. Kenneth Lupton and Deputy Maurice Cox and Detective Sgt. Ray Brogden investigated the break-ins.
Another citizen's assistance on Sunday night led to an arrest and the recovery of a stolen vehicle at Dudley. A witness had told deputies that someone was trying to get a vehicle out of a ditch. The suspect, a 13-year-old boy who was not identified because of his age, was arrested and placed in a juvenile detention center.
The vehicle, valued at $15,000, was returned to its owner who lives in Carraway Creek Estates. C-shift Deputy Chuck Schaeffer was assigned to the case.
In the third case, a witness saw two men stealing a lawn mower at about 5 p.m. Monday from a yard in the 500 block of Genoa Road. They put the mower in the back seat of a car and headed toward the fairgrounds.
Deputy Randy Thompson found the car early today at a gas station at Mar Mac. The mower was still in the car. The two men were arrested and charged with larceny.
Mack McCustion Carter Jr., 46, and Danny Earl Toler, 38, both of Colonel Warrick Drive, Dudley, were placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $200 secured bonds.
The lawn mower, valued at $175, was to be returned to the resident, Geronimo Casillas Reese.
