Aircraft and people from the 4th Fighter Wing were scheduled to begin leaving Seymour Johnson Air Force Base tonight for a deployment in support of the war on terrorism, the Air Force announced.

They will go somewhere in southwest Asia. Numbers of people and F-15E fighter jets going were not announced.

The move was part of the normal Air Force Expeditionary Force cycle, a 12-month rotation of troops.

Some airmen were scheduled to leave around midnight. Jets were scheduled to begin leaving around 5 a.m. Friday.
