EUREKA -- The Eureka town board released its proposed budget Tuesday, which includes no tax increases.
But it does include a 5 percent pay raise for town board members, as well as money to hire a town manager.
The budget totals $122,742. Other items include the following:
*$6,300 for a new town manager.
*$6,500 for the fire tax distribution.
*$3,000 for a cemetery survey and $500 for new cemetery plot markers.
*$16,000 in revenue from cemetery plot sales.
*$22,000 for sewer charges from Fremont.
*$10,000 for public safety.
*$46,000 in revenue from sewer charges.
The town had $400 in last year's budget for Town Hall maintenance and the board plans to use it to purchase a new air conditioner.
The budget was posted today and the commissioners will continue to study it and propose any changes.
The board has scheduled a public hearing for June 14 at 7 p.m. at the fire department. The public is invited to express their concerns about the proposed budget, which must be adopted by July 1.
