Central Alumni to hold homecoming

Central Alumni & Friends Inc. will have its 32nd annual homecoming on Memorial Day weekend.
Those honored during this year's festivities are Central classes of 1944, 1954, and 1964, and Eastern Wayne classes of 1974, 1984, 1994 and 2004.
The opening banquet will begin Friday, May 28, at 7 p.m. in the N.C.O. Club at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The banquet speaker will be Ruth Best Jeffers of Lawrenceville, Ga., a member of the class of 1954. Tickets are $20. The banquet will be followed by a fellowship hour at 9.
The parade will line up on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eastern Wayne Middle School.
The Saturday picnic will be at 2 p.m. at Eastern Wayne Middle School. Tickets are $10. Families are to take desserts and lawn chairs.
There will be a Dutch breakfast on Saturday, May 29, at 8:15 a.m. at Madison's restaurant and a worship service at 9:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Parkstown community.
The Saturday hospitality hour will start at 9 p.m. at the Quality Inn & Suites. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
The weekend will end with an awards and gospel program on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be Leroy McDowell.
