Flower show
The Goldsboro Council of Garden Clubs is sponsoring a flower show with the theme "Reflections of the Past, Visions of the Future."
It will be on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayne County Museum. The event is open to the public.

Center Street Jam
Downtown Goldsboro is about to get "shook up" by the first band in the Center Street Jam series.
In two weeks, on May 13, the Fantastic Shakers will perform in the parking lot of the Waynesborough House on South Center Street from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation is inviting everyone to come and enjoy the sounds of great beach music sponsored by RBC Centura.
People are invited to bring their kids, their lawn chairs and their dancing feet. You might also want to come with an appetite, because food from various restaurants and vendors will be available.
Poetry reading
The African American Arts Advocates will present a poetry reading Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the yellow room at Herman Park Center.
The public may bring original works or favorite published selections to read. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served after the reading.
Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe's. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
