Taylor Scholarship luncheon held

The 10th annual L. Gary Taylor Memorial Scholarship Awards Luncheon was held recently on the campus of Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville.
The scholarship was established by First Citizens Bank and the family and friends of the late L. Gary Taylor, who was co-owner of Seymour Fuenral Home in Goldsboro.
Mr. Taylor was an ardent advocate of funeral service education and was well known to funeral service professionals as a leater and innovator on issues relating to the profession. He attended Mount Olive College and was a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service when it was located in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Taylor died unexpectedly on June 2, 1994.
Students selected to this award will receive a scholarship of $750 to be used for their studies in the funeral service program at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
