Brandon K. Briggs, a senior at Rosewood High School, is the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship at Barton College. The renewable scholarship will cover $6,000 of tuition for the freshman year.

Briggs will enter Barton in the fall and plans to major in physical education with teacher certification.

He is the son of Tommy and Elaine Pittman of Goldsboro.

Paige Shigeko Bazemore of Goldsboro, a transfer student from Mount Olive College, is the recipient of a Transfer High Honors Scholarship at Barton College. The renewable scholarship will cover $3,000 of tuition for the year.

Miss Bazemore is the daughter of Tadao and Brenda Bazemore of Goldsboro.

She will enter Barton College in the fall and plans to major in nursing.

Kortne M. Muntz, a senior at Rosewood High School, is the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship at Barton College. The renewable scholarship will cover $6,000 of tuition for the freshman year.

Miss Muntz is the daughter of Mark and Kimberly Muntz of Goldsboro.

She will enter Barton College in the fall and plans to major in nursing.

Greyson Morgan of Mount Olive has been awarded a $2500 merit scholarship at Mount Olive college.

The renewable scholarship selection is based on grade point average, class rank and SAT scores.

Morgan is the son of Grey and Gloria Morgan. A graduate of North Duplin High School, he plans to enter Mount Olive College in the fall.

Courtney Farmer was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society, on March 30 at Elizabeth State University, where she is a senior majoring in business administration.

The national honor society recognizes outstanding academic achievements by students in business programs.

Miss Farmer is a 2000 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Farmer Sr.

Jennifer Lauren Dudley, of Goldsboro, has been awarded an academic scholarship to attend Pfeiffer University in Charlotte in the fall. The scholarship is awarded to incoming transfer students based on the student's academic record.
