George Farfour
George R. Farfour, a Goldsboro native, was recently promoted to lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force during a ceremony officiated by Major General Select Douglas Fraser, director of Air and Space Operations.
Lt. Col. Farfour is presently assigned as the Chief, Space and Missile Standardization/Evaluation Policy for Headquarters, Air Force Space command (AFSPC) at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
He is responsible for all aspects of the Air Force's standardization and evaluation policy for our nation's intercontinental ballistic missiles, Air Force satellites, early warning radars and space lift operations.
Lt. Col. Farfour was also recently selected as the Deputy Chief, AFSPC Commander's Action Group. In that capacity he will oversee the AFSPC commander's personal staff of action officers.
The son of Tempie B. Farfour of Goldsboro and the late George J. Farfour, he is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He received a degree in political science and communications from East Carolina University, a master of art's degree in management from Webster University and a master of military operational art and science degree from Air University.
Stephen Bell Jr.
Navy Hospitalman Recruit Stephen L. Bell Jr. recently graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the 14-week course, Bell was taught a wide range of medical procedures used to provide first aid and assist Navy doctors and nurses. He also received an introductory instruction for service in a variety of medical environments, from fleet hospitals and shipboard medical departments to fleet Marine forces and medical administration offices.
Del M. Faircloth
Marine Corps Pfc. Del Marcus D. Faircloth, son of Gwen F. Faircloth and Richard L. Turner, both of Dudley, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point.
He is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School.
