KENANSVILLE -- Two students at James Sprunt Community College were honored recently for their work for the local and regional chapters of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society.

Joseph Ezzell of Wallace, vice president of leadership for the JSCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, won the Distinguished Chapter Officer Award. Tamela West of Burgaw, also a JSCC student and president of the North and South Carolina Region of Phi Theta Kappa, was honored with the Distinguished Regional Officer Award at the organization's 2004 Inter-national Convention in Minneapolis.

This year, nearly 500 chapters competed for the Society's most coveted awards.
