Other items on City Council agenda

Besides voting on whether to annex some property into the city, the Goldsboro City Council will also consider the following items Monday, including the building of a new Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shop:
*Hold a public hearing on a request from Eddie Grantham to rezone the northeast corner of North William Street and Industry Court from General Business to I-5 General Industry.
*Hold a public hearing to consider a request from Coastal Banking Co. for a special use permit to allow the construction of a bakery on the north side of East Ash Street between Berkeley Boulevard and Spence Avenue. If approved, the building would house a new Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shop, next to where the existing building now stands.
*Determine whether the city should consider a petition for contiguous annexation from the Goldsboro Worship Center on the south side of New Hope Road between Hare Road and Reedy Branch.
*Decide whether to condemn the following three buildings: 612 Pittman St., owned by George Lancaster of Dudley. According to the city's Inspection Department, the building has been heavily damaged by fire and can't be repaired; 410 Denmark St., owned by Levy McKenzie of Whiteville. The Inspection Department said that the building is not secured, is in dilapidated condition and can't be repaired; three mobile homes at 3012 Thoroughfare Road owned by Mary Alice Graham of Goldsboro. The buildings are dilapidated and can't be repaired, according to the department.
The council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Monday and will be held in council chambers on the second floor of City Hall.
