Presidential caucus
The Wayne County Democratic Party will hold its presidential preference caucus Saturday at the County Courthouse.
Any registered Democrat may come between 8 a.m. and noon and vote for one of the Democratic candidates for president. The courthouse is at the corner of Walnut and William streets.
The N.C. Democratic Party is holding caucuses across the state Saturday because the primary elections were delayed until July. The results will tell the Democratic Party how to divide its delegates to the Democratic National Convention this summer.
The Democratic candidates are U.S. Sen. John Kerry, the front-runner; U.S. Sen. John Edwards; former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean; U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich; and the Rev. Al Sharpton. Only candidates who receive at least 15 percent of the vote within a congressional district will receive delegates, under the N.C. Democrats' formula.
'Getting to Yes'
The Small Business and Industry Center of Wayne Community College will offer the free seminar "Getting to Yes -- The 5 C's of Lending."
The seminar will be held Thursday, April 29, from 6-8 p.m. in Room 145 of the Dogwood Building on campus.
The N.C. Rural Economic Development Center, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, will present this session. This seminar informs entrepreneurs what lenders look for when considering a small-business loan and what prospective borrowers need to know about the credit process before applying for a loan.

Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at El-Bethel Assembly. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
