World War II re-enactment
The Wayne County Museum is holding a re-enactment on Saturday called, "The American and German Soldiers during World War II."
The goal is to take attendees back in time to experience the war through the eyes of the soldiers. There will be re-enactors and authentic vehicles on display during the event.
The free event will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The museum is at 116 N. William St. in Goldsboro beside the post office. For more information, call Catherine Belmonte, museum manager, at 734-5023. The museum's hours are from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
WWII film series
Beginning Sunday, the Wayne County Public Library will run a film discussion series titled "From Rosie to Roosevelt: The American People."
This series is a film history of Americans in World War II designed to offer participants the opportunity to view seven documentary films and talk about the American experience of the war.
The six-week program will take place on Sundays from 2-4 p.m., April 18 through May 23, in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium at the main library branch. Registration is required to attend the series. If you have any questions, or want to register, please call Rhonda Konig at 735-1824, extension 4.
Pickle clue
Here is the next clue for the Pickle Hunt to help you find a jar of Mt. Olive pickles that has been hidden in Mount Olive:
*Stripes and polka dots and patchwork, oh my! Don't miss the petting zoo and give our climbing wall a try.
*Save money ƒ get your ticket to the Band of Oz concert early and you will get a discounted ticket.
*Suit up in your exercise gear and participate in the walk-a-thon, the Tour de Pickle or the Cucumber Patch or both.
The winner should bring the jar to the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce. The winner will receive a pickle pack donated by the Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
