Election officially over
The canvass of the results of the rematch between Danny Roseborough and Jackie Warrick for a seat on the Goldsboro City Council went quickly Tuesday, with no changes in results.
Warrick is still the winner, with 600 votes, declared the Wayne County Board of Elections. Roseborough received 501 votes.
The Elections Board received three provisional votes, which it reviewed Tuesday, but the ballots were ruled invalid. Provisional ballots are those cast by people whose eligibility to vote cannot be verified on Election Day. Two of the voters were not registered on local or state rolls, and the other voter lived in District 5 and was not qualified to vote in the District 6 race.
Warrick is scheduled to be sworn in Monday at 7 p.m. in City Hall at the beginning of the council meeting. At that time, he will replace Councilman Delmus Bridgers.
Healthy Kids Day
The Goldsboro Family Y will provide a day of fun Saturday with the 13th Annual Healthy Kids Day.
The activities will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with swimming, outdoor inflatable entertainment, games and activities, health information, free food and drinks.
Also, for one day only, the Family Y will reduce the joining fee for new members to $20. Registration will take place for summer programs including summer camp, pre-school and swim lessons.

Habitat dedication
Wayne County will have a new homeowner this week thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat will hold a house dedication ceremony for Teresa Smith at 2 p.m. Saturday at 407 N. Virginia St.
Since forming Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne in November 2001, the organization has completed six houses and is building two others. The goal for this year is to complete five houses and have five families move into them.
"We are excited about the progress that we have made in this short period of time," said county Habitat Executive Director Beth Parrish. "We are also appreciative of the support of the citizens and businesses of Wayne County and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base who have contributed so much to that success."
All-County Band Festival
Nearly 200 middle and high school students will be filling the air with music on Thursday.
The Wayne County public schools will present the annual All-County Band Festival at 7:30 p.m. in the Dillard Middle School auditorium.
The middle school band will perform four selections, with three performed by the high school concert band and two by the high school symphonic band.
Guest conductors will be Barney Barker of A.G. Cox Middle School in Winterville leading the middle school band; Ronzel Bell of Goldsboro High School leading the high school concert band; and Levi Gaillard of North Brunswick High School in Leland leading the high school symphonic band.
Pet photos
The Wayne County Humane Society will have its Spring Pet Photos fund-raiser Saturday at Pet Supplies Plus from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The cost is $10 for a digital framed 4-by-6 photo of a pet.
Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Goldsboro High School and from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at Wayne Christian School.
