Repo man?
A man came to a home Wednesday and told the resident that he had to repossess his 1999 Chevrolet Blazer, a Wayne County sheriff's report said.
The report said the resident, Linwood Allen Maready of Long Henry Grady Road, Seven Springs, told the man that he owed nothing on the truck.
Maready then told deputies that the "repo man" identified himself as working with a company in Seven Springs.
The man then took the Blazer, valued at $14,000, and fled. Maready said he called the company the man named and was told they knew nothing about the vehicle or the "repo man."
Drive-by shooting
A van and a home were damaged Thursday night in a drive-by shooting in the 200 block of Freeman Street, Goldsboro police said.
Qushawn Mondrell Thompson, 18, told officers that a white car stopped at about 9:45 p.m. and the passenger shouted at Broadhurst and fired a rifle.
Five windows on Thompson's van were shattered, and rifle shots also damaged the siding and a window in the home. Damage to Thompson's van was put at $600. His mother's home sustained about $150 in damages.
Break-ins
Two homes were broken into, a bag of money was stolen from a school and a four-wheeler was stolen, according to reports filed at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
*An estimated $3,500 worth of property was stolen Thursday from a home in the 2700 block of O'Berry Road. The resident, Shane Kevin Williams, reported the theft of a washer, a dryer, three firearms, kitchen furniture, a television and baby items. No sign of forced entry was listed.
*Two televisions and binoculars were stolen between Tuesday and Thursday after a door was damaged at a home in the 100 block of Foxcroft Drive, deputies said. The resident, John William Uberti, put an $1,100 value on his property. No damage estimate was reported.
*A bag with $143 was stolen between Wednesday and Thursday from a room at Rosewood Middle School, deputies said. The suspects smashed a window to get inside.
*A young thief may have taken a Honda four-wheeler between Wednesday and Thursday from a yard in the 200 block of Friendly Drive, deputies said. The key was left in the four-wheeler that was worth $1,000, according to the resident, Stuart Alan Kornegay. A bicycle also was left where the four-wheeler had been parked.
Investigations
Thieves punched out the locks on two vehicles and stole property, according to reports filed with Goldsboro police.
*A CD player and a radar detector were stolen Thursday from a truck in the parking lot of the Jamison Inn at 1408 Harding Drive, police said. The owner, Timothy Wayne Houston of Fayetteville, put a $549 value on his property. No damage estimate was reported.
*A digital camera, about $60, a face plate to a CD player and personal papers were stolen between Wednesday and Thursday from a car in an apartment parking lot in the 1600 block of Cuyler Best Road, police said. The resident and owner, A.R. Harper, estimated damage at $300. The value of the missing property had not been determined.
Drug charges
A 31-year-old man was arrested Thursday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office's Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team and charged with three counts of drug trafficking.
Gustavo Lopez Juarez of Church Road, LaGrange, was charged with trafficking in cocaine by transportation, possession and sale and delivery. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $400,000 secured bond.
Driver injured
A driver was injured in a two-car collision at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Berkeley Mall parking lot, Goldsboro police said. Fen Yao, 45, of Pointe Drive, LaGrange, was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The other motorist, Melba G. Anderson, 82, of Long's Plant Farm Road, was charged with a safe-movement violation. Damages were set at $1,200.
