Electronic recycling
Wayne County residents will have an opportunity to get rid of old and obsolete electronic equipment Saturday during Keep Wayne County Beautiful's third electronic recycling day.
The organization is once again teaming up with Franklin's Recycling Co. to hold a one-day electronics collection. The parking lot of Sam's Club will be the site for the collection, scheduled for Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. For further information, call KWCB at 731-1600.
Drive-through coffee
Goldsboro residents can soon get their caffeine fix on the run.
Java Jo'z, a 194-square-foot building, will soon open for drive-through coffee service. The shop will be on the west side of Berkeley Boulevard between Graves Drive and Cashwell Drive in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
Awards on base
The 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base has won an award for being the best equipment maintenance squadron in the Air Force.
The squadron provides ammunition, bomb racks and ground equipment for the 4th Fighter Wing aircraft and ensures that the F-15E Strike Eagles are ready to fly.
The squadron deployed personnel to Southwest Asia during Operation Iraqi Freedom, helping with 3,263 combat sorties that logged 12,987 combat hours.
The squadron will go on to compete at the Department of Defense level for the Phoenix Award.
