Grantham woman's murder still under investigation

The murder of a Grantham woman remains under investigation, but Wayne County sheriff's officials are saying little else about the case.
Peggy B. Brock, 45, was gunned down at about 3 a.m. Nov. 10 in her home at 451 James Hinson Road.
Her husband, Johnnie Muriel Brock, 37, also was wounded numerous times, but survived the predawn attack and now is living at an undisclosed location.
About seven weeks later, Mrs. Brock's son, Jason Matthew Bradford, who did not live with the couple, had been reported missing by his natural father, Marion Bradford,
to the Sheriff's Office. A day after the report, witnesses saw the son walking nearby.
When deputies arrived Dec. 31 at Jason Bradford's mobile home at 887 Sambo Lambert Road, he was found dead in a bedroom closet of what Sheriff Carey Winders said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sheriff's detectives, with the assistance of State Bureau of Investigation special agents, gathered evidence from the Brocks' double-wide mobile home. The items were sent to the SBI lab in Raleigh for analysis.
Some, but not all, of the evidence has been returned to the Sheriff's Office, officials have said.
Information obtained from the investigation has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office. That office is reviewing the information. Officials said prosecutors also may ask for more information before making a decision on how to pursue the case.
Winders has declined to say if the son or someone else might have committed the shootings.
