Baby died of head wound, officer says
Wayne County Sheriff's detectives have been told the 4-month-old baby who died allegedly at her father's hand sustained a fatal head wound. They've been told the official autopsy report could take six to nine months.
Investigators charged Timothy Ray Carmon, 35, of Outlaw Road last week with the death of Kalandra Rene Carmon. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail without bond.
The child was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital on Feb. 13 and airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville where she was pronounced dead on Feb. 15.
Two more charged
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has charged Mary Page Taylor, 44, of Third Street and Shirley Diane Johnson, 45, of Central Heights Road, with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen property. The women are under $5,000 bond.
The charges resulted from an investigation into a break-in at Luke's Auto Electric on N.C. 581 North, Goldsboro.
Two other suspects have been charged already in the case. They are Mary Patricia Moody and Joseph Bryant Warrick.

Crimes
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the following crimes:
*Someone reportedly broke into a 1996 Dodge Caravan parked in the owner's drive and took a carry bag, a brief case, bank checks, money orders, jewelry, cash and a photo identification card, all valued at $550. There was no damage. Mary Whitley of South Andrews Avenue said her car was unlocked.
*Joseph Lee Griffith of Bayleaf Drive said someone broke into his father's 1993 Nissan and took a leather jacket and radar detector, valued at $350. He said they entered through the sun roof after breaking the latch. He said it happened when the car was parked at a friend's house on Rose Street.
*Police are investigating a reported break-in at the home of Ricky Randolph Jones on East Elm Street. Jones said the items taken included a satellite receiving dish, two stereos, a CD player, a DVD player, speakers, a 13-inch portable with remote and some clothes and work boots, all valued at $2,000.
*Someone removed the tires and rims from a $600 trailer owned by Clark Auction Co. while it was parked in a parking lot at 600 N. John St.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the following crimes:
*Someone damaged a bedroom window and cut the phone line at Blanca Borralles' house on Latino Drive, Seven Springs. Damage was $300.
*Someone broke out a bedroom window with a rock and ransacked the home of Mae DeGraffenreidt Mark of Brewington Drive, Dudley. Damage was $150. She said the dresser drawers in all the rooms were pulled out and the contents dumped onto the floor. She could not find anything missing.
*Someone broke into the home of Brandie Monica Carreno on Shirley Drive, Dudley, by cutting the metal fence around the house and breaking out a rear window. Damage was $200. Items taken included a wallet, personal papers, pictures and jewelry, all worth $780.
*Detectives are investigating a report of fraud. Erica Allison Mayberry of Dollard Town Road said a collection agency has sent her a bill on an account she knows nothing about. She said she thinks someone obtained her name and Social Security number to open the account.
*A landlord reported the larceny of a ceiling fan and light fixture, four cabinet drawers and vinyl mobile home skirting from property on B.J. Drive, Goldsboro. The landlord, Christopher Scott Evans of South Jordans Chapel Road, Mount Olive, said the items were valued at $1,150. He said the last renters were late on the rent and were evicted. He said he thinks the items were removed during the move.
Missing
Michael McKinzie, 13, was reported missing to the Goldsboro police Tuesday morning. His mother, Ruby McKinzie, said he was picked up by a church member on Wayne Memorial Drive earlier in the morning and dropped off at Bramblewood Apartments. He attends Belfast Academy alternative school, she said, and the school called to report that he had not shown up for school.
