Wayne County emergency personnel, inside the car, assist the driver after Goldsboro firemen cut away the driver's side door to remove the victim. Also involved in the accident was a truck carrying timber.

Her daughter, Jamie Meeks, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The wreck happened before school opened this morning. Mrs. Meeks' westbound car was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer truck at the intersection of Elm Street and the Martin Luther King Expressway South near the National Guard Armory.

Details of the accident were not immediately available.
