Four people, including two children, were killed Saturday morning when their vehicle (pictured above) crashed near Mount Olive, turned over, landed on a junked car at a vacant house and caught on fire.
The N.C. Highway Patrol identified the victims as Alfonzo Reynoso Puebla, 36; Alfonsina M. Hernandez, 30; Alejandro R. Maldonado, 6; and Blanca R. Maldonado, 7, all of Atlas Price Road. A 12-year-old girl in the car was rescued by a passerby.
Only partial information was available from the Highway Patrol's headquarters in Raleigh.
Puebla was driving east on Kelly Springs Road when he ran the stop sign at Indian Springs Road, the patrol said. Puebla's vehicle was struck on the left side by a car (pictured at right) going south on Indian Springs Road.
All four people who died were in Puebla's vehicle. Two other people were carried to Wayne Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. No information was available about them Saturday night.
