Annexation report on its way to Goldsboro City Council

The Goldsboro City Council will receive an annexation report at Monday night's council meeting.
The report will outline the area to be annexed and show that it meets the legislative standards to be annexed.
At the council's last meeting on Feb. 9, the board announced its intent to annex the area on the east and west sides of Salem Church Road and the north and south sides of Buck Swamp Road. This area includes Ashby Hills, Fallingbrook Estates, Morgan Trace, Buck Run, Pineview Acres, Tarklin Acres and Canterbury Village subdivisions.
The council will hold public hearings on the following items during its Monday night meeting:
*A request by Norfam LLC to rezone the north zone of Patetown Road between Spring Street and Country Day Road from R-16 residential to R-9 residential.
*A request by Bobby Floars to rezone the southwest corner of Wayne Memorial Drive and Sixth Street from R-9 residential to neighborhood business.
*A request by Best Commercial Development to rezone the north side of Fedelon Trail between North William Street and Salem Church Road from R-16 and R-12 residential and I-5 general industry to general business and I-5 general industry.
*A request by the Brian Center for a special use permit allowing it to add 10 beds to the existing nursing and resting home facility on the east side of Wayne Memorial Drive between Ninth Street and Seventh Street.
The following structures will come before the council for condemnation:
*A building at 901 Greenleaf St. owned by Ms. Sankie Everette Johnson of Washington, D.C.
*A building at 909 Greenleaf St. owned by Alexander Cheek and McKennie Cheek Hawkins of Brooklyn, N.Y.
*A building at 708 E. Pine St. owned by Stephen R. Barcel of Raleigh.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall on Center Street.
