A 44-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday by Wayne County sheriff's officers and charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from her former employer, Pate-Dawson Co. of Goldsboro.
Delilah Dickerson of Red Hill Road, Fremont, was arrested after Pate-Dawson Co. had filed a report of an embezzlement, Detective Sgt. Michael Dale said.
Armed with a search warrant, Dale, Detective Sgts. Tony Morris and Tammy Odom and Detective Mike Reid went to Ms. Dickerson's home Tuesday and continued the investigation.
Certified public accountants are now trying to determine the exact amount of the embezzled funds, Dale said.
Ms. Dickerson was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $35,000 secured bond.
