ECU to hold drum workshops

GREENVILLE -- Rick Latham, author of "Advanced Funk Studies," longtime drummer with the Edgar Winter Group, and now frontman of his own jazz sensation, will perform and teach in Greenville in early February. On Thursday, Feb. 5, Latham appears with the ECU Percussion Ensemble at 8 p.m. in A.J. Fletcher Recital Hall on Tenth Street. On Feb. 6, he joins the ECU Jazz Ensemble in a concert with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at 8 p.m. in Wright Auditorium. On Feb. 7, the percussion virtuoso offers a drum kit clinic at 4 p.m. in Room 105 in A.J. Fletcher Music Center. All events are free and open to the public. Information: 1-252-328-5386.
