New leader: Col. Scovill Currin is the new commander of the 916th

The 916th Air Refueling Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base has a new commander.

Col. Scovill Currin accepted the reins Friday morning from Col. Eric Jenkins during a change of command ceremony at the base.

We can expect good things from the wing under Currin's leadership. He has a proven track record as an officer.

Currin will preside over big changes at the base. Seymour Johnson will welcome the new KC-46 Pegasus refueling tanker later this year, marking a milestone in the integrated wing's history.

The ceremony was presided over by Major Gen. Randall Ogden, commander of the 4th Air Force, who praised the job Jenkins did in getting the wing ready for the new tankers and in leading the wing's airmen. He called Jenkins a "servant leader" who put his people first. For his part, Jenkins praised the men and women who served under him and said he expects them to give the new commander the same type of team effort they gave him.

We believe Currin will continue the tradition of excellent leadership at Seymour Johnson, and we look forward to his stay here.
