Hidden: President Trump should release his tax records to public

President Donald Trump is flat out refusing to release his tax records to the public and as taxpayers ourselves we are disappointed in him.

What is he trying to hide?

Every president in recent memory has made his tax records public upon taking office. Doing so allows citizens of the United States to know how a president's proposals for tax increases or tax cuts affect his own personal bottom line.

Trump, a billionaire, vowed from the start of his campaign to open his books. But he has since decided to keep them closed, and that has given Democrats ammunition to attack him at a time when he is trying to push forward with a tax reform package.

A Trump spokesman said the public has been given plenty of information on Trump's financial status. That is a lie. The information remains in the vault.

Voters elected Trump to make America great again. You don't do that by hiding public information from its people.
