Still alive: Efforts to revamp Obamacare are not dead

Some Republican members of Congress have not given up on repealing the Affordable Care Act and are still working to find a solution to the gaps between various concepts of what a national health care system should look like.

A recent poll showed the nation about evenly split between people who want to repeal Obamacare and people who want the program to remain intact.

We have said before that we believe Obamacare has too many sticking points to be successful in the long term. We hope that lawmakers can find common ground in their efforts to repeal its most onerous regulations. There were some signs this week that the Freedom Caucus might be more willing to compromise on some of its demands to completely repeal the law. The caucus's demands were the chief reason the Republican campaign to repeal the law failed last month. If common ground can be found, there is still a chance for the law to be changed.
