You're fired: President gives Democratic appointee her walking papers

On Monday, President Donald Trump fired the acting attorney general of the United States because she said she would refuse to defend his refugee ban in court.

It, of course, is reminiscent of Trump's stint on reality television, where he became famous for his firing of contestants seeking to become his "Apprentice."

This firing, however, is real and shows that Trump means business when it comes to carrying out his orders. Our new president is not a man who is used to having his decisions questioned or defied.

The firing was largely symbolic. The new attorney general, Jeff Sessions, will be taking over soon and will no doubt support the president's executive order.

But the move shows the discord that currently engulfs our government as Trump begins his administration. The refugee ban apparently came as a surprise to most officials in Washington, including many Trump supporters. We believe there are more surprises in the making.
